Twitter stability during tonight’s TasteLive event

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————
Update 3:18pm: The feed is now running at 15 seconds. That’s pretty much real time. I just hope this keeps up!

Update: 2:25pm: This was just posted to the Twitter status blog: “Some tweets and followings delayed. A fraction of tweets and followings are currently delayed. We are investigating the problem”

This is a good sign. It means they are working on it.

True to form, Twitter is once again acting up on the day of a planned Tastelive event. I could work up some serious conspiracy theories, but I won’t. We’re just hoping that #sex101 or whatever spam is pulling the search api down is all cleared up by 8pm EST tonight. We fully expect it to be.

We’re working now on remedies for Twitters ongoing stability issues, but for tonight, we’ll have a backup plan in place. If Twitter or the search api (slow feed) fails during tonights event, we have set up a backup system here. We will move over there only in the event of an ongoing outage. Because this is a smaller group, we don’t think there will be any issues with this backup plan.

Please DM me at twitter.com/CraigDrollett if you have any questions. Thanks!
