Twitter status for tonights #ttl

——————————-

Update: 6:56pm EST: The TasteLive posting box and log in are now working.  Search api seems to be running at around 15 seconds

—————————-

Ok, so as we’re all aware that Twitter basically hemoraged and spit up blood and guts all over the place earlier today.  After about 3 hours of complete downtime, it came back online…. kind of….

So how will the continued issues effect tonights event with Robert Oatley Vineyards?  Hopefully not by much!  Here’s where we’re at:

-We’ve monitored the Twitter search API thoughout the day, and it seems to be operating normally.  For us, that means that the feed will be ok as long as the posts actually make it out there.

-Twitter itself is not in as great shape: You will see that when you visit Twitter.com, sometimes it works, sometimes not so much.  On top of that posting seems to be questionable.

-Most important: With a couple of exceptions all 3rd party apps are currently locked out.  This means that until further notice, you can not post tweets from the TasteLive site.  FYI: Tweetdeck, and Tweetie (iphone) appear to be working.

-The Hellovino Ustream video will operate no matter what Twitter does.

So we recommend tracking the conversation using TasteLive.com and posting using Twitter or Tweetdeck or Tweetie.

Worst case scenario? Twitter completely fails? Taste the wines… Save your notes and post like crazy tomorrow…. Also, a 2daysperbottle tasting may be in order.

Fingers crossed.

Oh… BTW… In a few months, we won’t need to worry to much about this… hint…hint…
